Cigarettes electroniques were originally designed to simulate the experience of smoking traditional cigarettes. Little known to buyers, these were not intended as a replacement for nicotine patches or as a quit-smoking therapy. However, cigarettes electroniques have become an absolute rage in Europe and have many takers. Anti-smoking internet blogs and forums have showered praise on this new technology, which they call “vapoter” (which means steam). Cigarettes electroniques do not contain actual nicotine hence do not pose all the general known problems associated with tobacco cigarettes. However there hasn’t been scientific validation of their benefits or risks, hence caution before adopting this form of smoking is advised to all.
For example, a study published by the FDA in 2010 shows that cigarettes electroniques may promote cessation of smoking, but there are a number of unknown side effects like depression and suicidal disorders that need further investigation. One must keep in mind that these cigarettes electroniques must be stored away from the reach of children and not used by minors and high risk groups. The e-liquid used in cigarettes electroniques is non toxic and does not contain any of the carcinogens present in tobacco fags, however it is prepared in stringent proportion and must not be mixed with any other liquid.
